Find out more about our very own District Youth Council and how we are progressing to Vision 2018!
Sunday 19th April saw the 4th Meeting of the highly successful i.Voice Youth Council take place at 1st North Wingfield Scout Group. 10 Representatives of our Scout Groups in Chesterfield took part in a range of exciting sessions to help shape the future of the movement, with discussions ranging from the success of Bear Grylls as our Chief Scout to how Chesterfield District can become more open to people of every cultural background and how we can have an impact upon our communities.
i.Voice also take an active part in helping to plan the District Calendar, with exciting potential in the future of a Scout Sports Day in 2016 as well as Training Days for Young People & Adult Leaders on how we can utilise Media as a promotion tool for the District.
There were also guests in attendance from both Derbyshire Scouts and East Scarsdale District (who we believe are wanting to form their own District Youth Council). ACC Young Leaders, James Stafford and District Network Representative, Ryan Cowell, shared the development plan for Scouting in Chesterfield following the County Conference held the previous day in Castleton, Peak District. County Youth Council Leader, Kiron Griffin, helped the leaders to facilitate the different sessions of the day and our County Commissioner, Tom Stoddart, presented the Councillors with certificates recognising their achievements in helping to shape the future of Scouting.
