We want you to become the future face of Scouting in the Media for Chesterfield District Scouts!
Due to relocation of members and lack of availability; Chesterfield District Scouts is looking for a new Media Development Manager, with the role commencing in August 2016.
Your role will be to improve the face of Scouting in local, regional and national media; working in a team of MDM’s in the County to help create, promote and share good practice of stories for individuals, groups and the District as a whole.
You will be invited to attend and ‘cover’ Group and District Events, relay information from the Media Team at UK Scout Headquarters and have the opportunity to receive training from industry professionals working for TSA in how to promote the image of Scouting in the media
You will also be responsible for updating content through varying media streams including the District Website and Twitter Feed (@SpireScoutMedia)
As this role is currently filled by a member of Scout Network, we welcome applications from any members age 16+ who can fully commit time to the role to ensure as much relevant content is produced and published

Access to basic photography equipment and basic knowledge of photography
Ability to write emails, liaise with other volunteers and journalists (either over the phone or face to face)
Basic knowledge of Social Media and WordPress
Ability to fluently construct articles using Microsoft Word (or similar software)
