The District Lead Volunteer has overall responsibility for the District. He approves all activities. It is his role to ensure the district runs effectively and that Scouting develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association so that young people can benefit from good quality scouting.
DDC Programme works in partnership with the District Team and the District Executive Committee to support the delivery of fun, inspiring and high quality programmes that are challenging, relevant and rewarding for every young person in the district;
Our Local Training Manager identifies and develops training needs for all leaders in the District, to agree and update a personal learning plan. They also offer support and encourage leaders so that they can complete their training.
ADC Squirrels works in partnership with the District Commissioner to ensure that effective operation of the Squirrel Scout Section in the District in accordance with the rules as laid down in POR of The Scout Association.
ADC Beavers works in partnership with the District Commissioner to ensure that effective operation of the Beaver Scout Section in the District in accordance with the rules as laid down in POR of The Scout Association.
ADC Cubs works in partnership with the District Commissioner to ensure that effective operation of the Cub Scout Section in the District in accordance with the rules as laid down in POR of The Scout Association.
ADC Scouts works in partnership with District Commissioner to ensure that effective operation of the Scout Section in the District in accordance with the rules as laid down in POR of The Scout Association.
The District Explorer Scout Commissioner both line manages as well as provides guidance and support to our Explorer section which caters for the 14 – 18 year old age range. Together with with our Explorer Scout Leaders, Ash ensures that the sections operate effectively, enjoy a full and balanced programme, encourages collaboration and that the rules and polices of the association are followed. As DESC, Ash takes the lead on the growth and development of this section.
The District Scout Network Commissioner provides guidance and support to our Network section which caters for the 18 – 25 year old age range. Together with a team of coordinators and supporters they assist young adults with the commissioning of projects that cover the Network programme of Adventure, Community and International.
As a member of the District Leadership Team the District Youth Commissioner works in partnership with the District Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Executive Committee. The role is to ensure that young people from 6 – 25 years are involved and engaged in every decision that shapes their Scouting experience locally and to empower young people to share their ideas and have a meaningful voice in planning, implementing and reviewing their programme and opportunities.
The Scout Active Support Manager is responsible for the management, leadership and day to day running of the District Scout Active Support Unit.
The Scout Active Support Manager works with the Group Scout Leader or responsible Commissioner to agree a service agreement which details the purpose of the Scout Active Support Unit.
I look after the websites for both the District and Spitewinter campsite. Along with various other digital tools such as the Microsoft 365 platform.
